THE DIGITAL SOCIETY
This project is an exploration of specific typefaces created through a 12-page type specimen book while adding a secondary narrative based on a topic chosen in class.
The technical goals of this project include: learning to manage multiple levels of hierarchy and large quantities of text engagingly and compellingly; revisiting and mastering the grid; honing skills in concept development, hierarchy and harmony.
The topic I chose was media. I decided to showcase this with popular social media platforms. In this book, I compare and contrast two typefaces Helvetica Neue, and Graphik. I took inspiration from the layout designs of Snapchat and Instagram and created my own that would fit right in with the type.
